Former Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney pleads guilty to drug trafficking conspiracy

An attorney from Eastern Idaho who formerly served as the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney has pled guilty to drug trafficking conspiracy.

69-year-old Robin Dwain Dunn of Rigby, Idaho, pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine.

According to court records, Dunn, who was working as an attorney, agreed to work with some of his clients to distribute controlled substances in Eastern Idaho. Dunn and a client of his drove to Salt Lake City, picked up meth and fentanyl and transported it back to Idaho to distribute.

Dunn admitted to using his position as an attorney to get drugs into the Bonneville County Jail, according to court records. Dunn was turned over to the U.S. Marshals while he awaits sentencing, which could be as high as 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $1 million.
