Oscar De La Hoya questions Canelo Alvarezs opponents ethnicity after tradingvilejabs

Former world champion Oscar De La Hoya has never been one to shy away from confrontation with active fighters. He has continuously feuded with superstar Canelo Alvarez ever since the super middleweight champion left Golden Boy Promotions. However, in the latest provocation of the Mexican superstar, ‘Golden Boy’ also targeted Edgar Berlanga and Devin Haney as well.

Although De La Hoya’s disputes with Alvarez are widely known, the Golden Boy boss has recently targeted Berlanga. The Puerto Rican boxer is set to fight Canelo in a few weeks. To unsettle the undefeated super-middleweight, De La Hoya playfully remarked that he had more Puerto Rican roots than Berlanga. This was in response to Berlanga’s recent assertion that Puerto Rico supported him.

Edgar Berlanga, I called you out for not being Puerto Rican – I simply spoke the facts. So you got embarrassed and posted a 14-year-old photo of me that the world has already seen and meme’d a million times? Bro, why didn’t you just post your birth certificate from Puerto Rico? Unless you don’t have one. Don’t tell me that you are another lame who is offended by the truth, come on bro.

The sole reason for the Golden Boy boss to mock Berlanga is that he has stayed more than ‘The Chosen One’ in Puerto Rico. De La Hoya then shifted his attention to Devin Haney in the same video. De La Hoya has developed a recent animosity towards Haney. This was following the overturning of Haney’s loss to Ryan Garcia to a no-contest and all the controversy surrounding their fight.

Controversy and De La Hoya have become synonymous with each other recently. The Golden Boy boss’ recent wild dance video is one such example of that. Moreover, this is not the first time De La Hoya has gone off on Canelo or the upcoming opponent, Berlanga. In one such instance, the Golden Boy boss thrashed the Mexican boxer for refusing a huge fight offer.

Oscar De La Hoya slams Canelo Alvarez for refusing Turki Alalshikh’s offer

Canelo Alvarez is currently riding on a four-fight win streak, with the most recent victory against Jaime Munguia. As Alvarez prepares for his September title fight with Berlanga, he has faced verbal attacks from many. The list includes UFC CEO Dana White, Conor McGregor, Saudi promoter Turki Alalshikh, and now the ex-boxing great. Many individuals are furious about the clashing dates with the UFC Noche event.

Recently, Canelo declined a fight deal proposed by Turki Alalshikh, which led to him facing several backlashes. Oscar De La Hoya also took the opportunity to mock the Mexican boxer. According to De La Hoya, Alalshikh is trying to provide better fights for the viewers, and Alvarez’s refusal has made him a target.

So it turns out I’m not the only one that thinks Canelo is an arrogant piece of shit. Why? Because he’s out-priced himself. The Saudis don’t even want to deal with him. It’s all because he will do anything not to fight David Benavidez.

De La Hoya also mocked Canelo for ducking the David Benavidez fight and choosing an inferior opponent. As for Alvarez, he clearly mentioned the risk of fighting his fellow compatriot Benavidez. However, both Canelo and Berlanga seem to have blocked out the outside noises as they are focused on fighting each other on September 14.
