RIP to our season, US rapper Lil Wayne brutally calls for Aaron Rodgers sacking as Packers

Publish date: 2024-08-03

It is going from bad to worse for Aaron Rodgers-led Green Bay Packers this season as the team took yet another devastating blow to their chances of qualifying for the playoffs this season after a 9-15 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. This is now the fifth straight loss for the Packers since winning against the Lions in London.

Heading into week 9, the Detroit Lions had the worst defensive record in the league, but that still didn’t stop them from overpowering the Packers along with MVP Aaron Rodgers. A lot of foolish errors and the inability to capitalize on opportunities were the Achilles heel for the Packers on Sunday.

Aaron Rodgers cut a disappointed figure after the defeat and said that they are not the team that had been on a 13-winning spree a few years back. “Well, a lot of (twice) things went into that I think. We won a lot of one-score games over those years and haven’t been doing that this year, that’s one thing,” he said in the post-match conference.

American rapper Lil Wayne says the Packers should GET RID of Aaron Rodgers

Popular American rapper and pop culture artist Lil Wayne has been a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers for several years, but his faith in his team is being tested heavily during this tumultuous period for the franchise. Lil Wayne even recorded a song for the team’s 2021 playoff run, which was called “Green and Yellow”. After the defeat to the Detroit Lions, Lil Wayne couldn’t hide his emotions and took to Twitter to express his frustration.

However, what is even more interesting is that he blamed Aaron Rodgers for the loss and even said that the Green Bay Packers should have gotten ‘rid’ of the veteran quarterback before the season started. “RIP to the season,” he tweeted. “We should’ve gotten rid of 12 before the season.”

Some fans argued that if they got rid of Aaron Rodgers, who would come in instead of him as there were no good quarterback options available for this year. “If the packers got rid of 12, who would be the QB? This year’s draft didn’t have strong QB candidates and Love can’t start.”

While another fan agreed with Lil Wayne and said that Aaron Rodgers is to blame for this loss. “Like all these non packers fans saying it not Rodgers fault. Watch the game and you’ll see that it’s definitely the main reason.”
