Only your level, skills, and perks carry over. You must restart the main quest or you can finish it quickly by telling Constellation everything. A new Starborn ship and suit are provided. Opportunity to make different choices, but current gear and builds are lost.

Remaining in the Current Universe

You can continue side quests, explore planets, and pursue current storylines with existing reputation and gear. The Armillary is dismantled, but can be rebuilt later to return to The Unity and choose rebirth.

You can keep expanding your outposts and acquiring new gear to maximize your capabilities before restarting. Also, you will have a chance to experience the full extent of the current universe before leaving it behind.
