That aint my job! Josh Jacobs has a stern message for Raiders management to fix the offensi
Josh Jacobs entered Ford Field wearing Ghostbusters cleats to celebrate the Halloween fever that has engulfed the NFL, hoping the festival seasons will bring an uptick in their form and finally start winning some games. But in front of them was the tricky challenge of the Detroit Lions.
The 25-year-old had the best season of his career last year, crossing the 1650 rushing yards mark. More of the same was envisioned prior to the start of the 2023 campaign, despite the contract troubles. However, a misfiring offense has affected his run play.
Jacobs only managed 347 yards from 118 receptions and two rushing touchdowns in the first seven games. The Lions’ game was no better. He finished the game with 15 carries for 61 yards and an average of 4.1; also gained 27 yards from two receptions.
Although the All-Pro running back jumped to the third spot in the Las Vegas Raiders‘ all-time leading rusher with his 3rd touchdown of the season, it did little in the grand scheme of things. The Raiders ended up losing the game 26-14, which means the Sin City franchise now has 5 defeats from 8 games.
When asked about how the Raiders offense can improve, Josh Jacobs only had one thing to say:
I don’t know; it ain’t my job.
Josh Jacobs doesn’t believe the Lions were stacking their defense
The Lions had almost 40 minutes yesterday, which is twice as much as that of the Raiders. It reflected on the spread as well as the silver and blacks, which only gained 157 yards with the football compared to the home side’s staggering 486 yards.
One might say that Dan Campbell‘s defense was stacking too many players near the endzone, but Josh Jacobs doesn’t quite agree with that. He claimed that if that were the case, he wouldn’t have scored the touchdown.
No, they ain't stack the box tonight. They started sending the safety late. I mean, it is just what it is. But nah!
The 2019 first-round pick signed a one-year deal worth up to $12 million, as per Spotrac. But that came after a period of not showing up for training sessions. His demand, like that of the other running backs in the NFL, was to be paid according to how they performed on the field. Recently, former star running back Adrian Peterson agreed with them.
