You ever heard of John Skipper, When Dana White revealed how UFC and ESPN came to an agreeme
UFC President Dana White has had many professional enemies in the business industry. The pioneer of the sport did not get rich and famous without making a few enemies on the way. John Skipper was one of them. Skipper led ESPN as their President for a long time and did not like the UFC. White reveals that the current deal with UFC and ESPN only occurred after Skipper left the company.
In an interview, Dana White said, “You ever hear of John Skipper? John Skipper ran ESPN, beloved. Looks like the squarest dude on the planet. Hates UFC. Hates it, big soccer guy—for whatever reason. So, our FOX deal is up, and we’re probably not going to end up doing another deal with FOX. John Skipper’s never, ever gonna take the UFC. So, we’re in a real tough place.”
However, the story had a happy ending. White said, “John Skipper’s cocaine dealer is gonna rat him out. So he has to tell Disney, ‘Yeah, my cocaine dealer is probably gonna go public,’ and whatever. So, he has to step down from ESPN. Right at the time that we’re trying to make our TV deal. And, we end up doing the ESPN deal.”
It is a crazy story of how the UFC and ESPN came to an agreement after John Skipper stepped down and the success it has had since 2019. UFC remained the only active sport during the Pandemic and has grown immensely with the platform provided by ESPN. Some of the credit goes to John Skipper’s cocaine dealer for paving the path for a smooth negotiation.

Dana White and Donald Trump hang out at UFC 287
UFC 287 featured the rematch between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira for the Middleweight title. However, in the co-main event, Donald Trump’s supporter Jorge Masvidal fought Gilbert Burns in a Welterweight bout.
Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, came to the event just days after his indictment to support his friend Masvidal at the PPV. At the event, he was seen hanging out with UFC President and close friend Dana White, Kid Rock and Mike Tyson.
Masvidal fought Burns in a losing effort and announced retirement after the fight. However, Masvidal got political by urging the crowd to chant “Let’s Go Brandon” and singing huge praise to Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
